$700,000 Federal Grant Approved for the Route 30 Corridor SINC-UP Project

We are pleased to announce that a competitive multi-municipal grant application submitted to SPC has been approved for funding.
This project will convert traffic signals to LED technology along the Route 30 corridor from Forest Hills through North Versailles, saving 80% in energy costs as well as maintenance and replacement costs. The grant will also provide coordinated signal timing along the corridor, as well as emergency pre-emption technology.

$483,800 DEP Grant Approved for Traffic Signal and
Street Light Project

We are pleased to announce that a competitive multi-municipal grant application submitted to DEP has been approved for funding. Thanks to Duquesne Light for partnering with us to provide a $15,000 match, and thanks to State Senators
Sean Logan and Jay Costa for providing letters of support.
This project will convert incandescent bulbs to LED technology (saving 80% in energy costs and signficantly lowering maintenance and replacement costs) for 60 borough-owned street lights in East McKeesport, and traffic signals as follows:

Edgewood - 41
Pitcairn - 14
Plum - 47
Rankin - 2
Swissvale - 48
Turtle Creek - 45
Wilkinsburg - 165
